| Issue #236 | January 29, 2012 |
Dear Friends,
We are revving up for Valentine's Day this week, so be on the lookout for some sweet treats! An early Valentine's gift is always appreciated. Let your loved one know that you are thinking of them... Truffles (pictured), Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Cupcakes, Heart Shaped Sugar Cookies. <3 We are also introducing our 2012 bread schedule this week. There are only a few changes, so have no fear, you'll probably still see your favorite bread on the new schedule. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call. We'll be happy to talk. Happy 4th Birthday to the Fuquay-Varina Stick Boy! Way to go! They are celebrating this year by giving away cupcakes, cookies and coffee on Tuesday, January 31st. They will also be giving away door prizes. Go support them if you can, or send Katie and Josh an email (katie@stickboybread.com). Congratulations!! |
Bread of the Week: SWEET POTATO MARSHMALLOW BRIOCHE
|
Sweet Potato Marshmallow Brioche is a perfectly soft bread with amazing flavor. The texture is unreal and it almost melts in your mouth. I love this bread simply by itself. It's great toasted, but I like to eat a chunk pulled right off of the loaf while I sip on my morning coffee. Give it a try this week - you'll be happy you did!
Sweet Potato Marshmallow Brioche is not on our regular bread schedule, but it will be available every day this week at a sale price of $5.29 (regularly $5.79).
As always, we mix our breads from scratch, shape them by hand, and bake them in our big German oven, right here in our bakery on Hardin Street. We bake only with unbleached and unbromated flour and never use any additives or preservatives. Come and taste.
|
Our constant experimentation with new breads has created a surplus of recipes that we cannot possibly make on a weekly basis. Our solution to this problem is to offer daily specials, or as we call them, "our daily breads." These breads change from week to week. To see our regular bread schedule, click here. For the week of January 29th - February 4th the special breads will be as follows:
Monday: Roasted Red Pepper Parmesan Ciabatta - Flavorful red peppers and savory Parmesan in a light, airy bread.
Tuesday: Indian Mango - Chunks of delicious mango in a sweet bread.
Wednesday: Mocha Brioche - Ground espresso, cocoa and chocolate chips in a delicious buttery soft dough.
Thursday: Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Brioche - A unique brioche with the complimentary flavors of peanut butter and chocolate.
Friday: Garlic Cheddar Hamburger Buns - Roasted chunks of garlic and delicious cheddar to make your Super Bowl hamburgers a winner!
Saturday: Sourdough Bread Bowls for Super Bowl Sunday - Bring on the game with a warm sourdough bowl with steaming chip dip (I prefer artichoke dip) inside. Also makes a great (and edible) soup bowl.
