Dear Friends,
Happy Birthday to Mindy Coatney! It's the big 4-0, and it may be a hard birthday to face, but Mindy has gracefully fallen into the role! She is an inspiration to me - an amazing wife/mom/multi-tasker/clean-up-the-house/teach-school/put-a-bandaid-on-a-kid/run-a-business/mow-the-lawn/fix-the-problem lady, and I'm super proud that she's my sister. Happy Birthday! Love you!

Bread of the Week: ITALIAN HERB & PARMESAN

It's no wonder why Italian Herb and Parmesan has been on our regular bread schedule for so many years. It's a great bread! It has so much flavor with all of those Italian herbs mixed in the dough, and I love the Parmesan cheese on top. The texture of the bread is soft with a nice chewy crust. This bread goes great with pasta dishes, with a big salad, dipped in olive oil, or make it into crustades. Give Italian Herb and Parmesan a try this week. Happy eating!
Italian Herb and Parmesan is normally made every Monday and Wednesday for $2.94, but this week we will have it available everyday for $2.49.
As always, we mix our breads from scratch, shape them by hand, and bake them in our big German oven, right here in our bakery on Hardin Street. We bake only with unbleached and unbromated flour and never use any additives or preservatives. Come and taste.

Our constant experimentation with new breads has created a surplus of recipes that we cannot possibly make on a weekly basis. Our solution to this problem is to offer daily specials, or as we call them, "our daily breads." These breads change from week to week. To see our regular bread schedule, click here. For the week of July 26th through July 31st the special breads will be as follows:
| |
Monday: Walnut Miche - A whole wheat sourdough made with coffee and roasted walnuts.
Tuesday: White Chocolate Baguettes - A delightful blend of our French bread with white chocolate chips scattered throughout.
Wednesday: Pesto Bread - Fresh homemade basil pesto infused with a fluffy Italian dough.
Thursday: Mayan Chocolate Brioche - A spicy chocolate treat- cocoa and cinnamon touched with chili powder & cayenne for a bold unforgettable taste.
Friday: Walnut Sourdough - Once part of our bread schedule a long time ago- the walnuts releasing natural oils and nutty goodness into Old World sourdough.
Saturday: Schnecken - Buttery German croissant-like spirals with cinnamon & brown sugar.

If you are a blueberry fan (who isn't), this is your pie. And you need to get it while they last. We are making these pies with the fresh blueberries picked from Old Orchard Creek Farm, and while there is an abundance now, in a few weeks to a month those blueberries will be gone. But I love the fact that we have a pie with FRESH blueberries, and it is absolutely delicious! There is nothing but blueberries in the filling, with a little bit sugar for a tad of sweetness, which is poured into our famous Stick Boy crust. Brandon, our head pastry chef, hand rolls each pie crust, and makes great effort to evenly space the lattice work on top - there's a lot of TLC that goes into each pie (and everything else) at Stick Boy. Come in and taste the goodness, and get a blueberry pie this week!
Blueberry Pies are available for $15.99/whole and $2.75/slice. It serves 6 to 8, and it's best when heated in the oven. Ice cream on top is also recommended :)
