Welcome sun!!! It's so refreshing, and I had to actually roll my car windows down - Ha! Love it!
St. Patrick's Day is next Wednesday, and we'll be offering some specials starting at the end of this week. Be on the look out for:
- Cupcakes: Yep! This is a rare occasion at Stick Boy, and you better get them while they last. Only available 3/12 - 3/17. They come in chocolate or vanilla with a lucky message or picture on each one!! And they are all wrapped up in a lucky box. Sorry, no special requests on decorations. $4.50/ea, $8/2, $12/3, $15/4
- Shamrock Cookies: It's our famous sugar cookie! They are hand rolled and cut out in the shape of a four leaf clover and sprinkled with green for pure luck. We'll be eatin' them!!! Available 3/12 - 3/17. $1.50/ea, $15/doz
- Irish Cream Latte & Minty Mocha: Rich espresso and milk latte flavored with either Irish Cream or Chocolate and Mint. Be in the Irish spirit! Available now.

Breads of the Week: IRISH SODA BREAD

Irish Soda Bread is our bread of the week. It's a traditional soda bread made with bread flour, buttermilk and baking soda, and we have it in three great flavors - Raisin Caraway (pictured below), Speckled (chocolate mixed in to give a "speckled" look) and Spicy Cornbread (made with cornmeal). They say (or at least I say) if you eat a loaf luck will come to you, and if you buy one for a friend you'll find the pot of gold!
The schedule for the Irish Soda Breads (please order accordingly):
- Monday - Raisin & Caraway
- Tuesday - Spicy
- Wednesday - Speckled
- Thursday - Raisin & Caraway
- Friday - Spicy
- Saturday - Speckled
The Speckled Irish Soda Bread is available for $5.25, the Raisin Caraway is $4.50, and the Spicy Cornbread is available for $3.99.
As always, we mix our breads from scratch, shape them by hand, and bake them in our big German oven, right here in our bakery on Hardin Street. We bake only with unbleached and unbromated flour and never use any additives or preservatives. Come and taste. |

Our constant experimentation with new breads has created a surplus of recipes that we cannot possibly make on a weekly basis. Our solution to this problem is to offer daily specials, or as we call them, "our daily breads." These breads change from week to week. To see our NEW regular bread schedule, click here. For the week of March 8th through March 13th. the special breads will be as follows:

Monday: Pumpernickel - A darkly sweet rye blend, touched with cocoa and molasses.
Tuesday: Wild Rice & Onion - An old favorite at the bakery, with nutty wild rice, tangy onion and a dash of honey.
Wednesday: Mayan Chocolate Brioche - A unique, spicy take for chocolate lovers, with a subtle hue of cayenne and chili powder accentuating the real cocoa and semi-sweet chocolate in the bread.
Thursday: Rosemary Olive Oil Bread - A light touch of rosemary in a creamy Italian dough.
Friday: Kugelhopf - From the Alsace region, this sweet, cakey bread with rum and raisins goes by many variations and spellings, but is a guaranteed treat.
Saturday: Pretzel Bread - Celebrate the weekend right with a soft pretzel dough encrusted with delicious Celtic sea salt.

I'm really excited about our Tarts. They are amazingly good and are a perfect afternoon treat or a sure-to-impress-your-guests dessert. We offer three different delicious flavors: Lemon Curd , Ganache and Pastry Cream (look close to see the real vanilla bean - yum!). Come by this week and give them a try!
